She says the key is to find what works for you, how it makes you feel, and how to fit it into your daily life. Simple, yes, but not easy.

In the last 20+ years Sue has trained in and practiced meditation, mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), intrinsic coaching, aromatherapy, Reiki, qigong, yoga, and nature-based therapy. Through guided and silent retreats, along with programs at the Chopra Center of Well-being, Sue has embraced meditation, yoga, and the benefits of cultivating the mind, body, spirit connection.

Sue is a McLean Meditation Institute Certified Meditation & Mindfulness Teacher and MMI Mindful Trainer who brings mindfulness to the workplace. She’s also a certified facilitator of the Am I Hungry? Mindful Eating Program which explores how to re-learn to eat intuitively and enhance your healthy relationship with food.

She truly embodies what she teaches and her passion is teaching practical, simple practices and strategies to organizations and individuals through her business, Heartland Wellbeing Institute. She offers workshops and retreats and creates meaningful events where people can explore a healthy work/life balance.

Integrating further sport psychology tools with visualization and mindfulness-based practices she transferred her skills into the workplace.

After graduating from the East to West Yoga and Pilates Center in 1996 she co-created the first YMCA YogaFit Certification and began an in depth, lifelong integration of Meditation and Mindfulness.

In 2004 Sharon joined the Canadian Armed Forces as a Fitness and Sports Instructor and implemented the first yoga program at Canadian Forces Base Kingston. After being promoted to the Health Promotion Unit she began to study iRest® Yoga Nidra under the direction of Richard Miller, PhD. and other members of the Integrative Restoration Institute. Upon graduating from the Level 1 training in 2015 she introduced the Canadian Forces to this Military focused form of Mindfulness and began to specialize in Trauma Sensitive Training through additional learning with Warriors At Ease.

Sharon continues her quest to provide innovative programming for her community through further certification with the McLean Meditation Academy where she is a recent graduate.

Additional Teacher Specialties include; Sport psychology, mental fitness, trauma, chronic pain, active-duty military and veterans.

She enjoys attending yoga classes. Mary began her journey of self discovery and de-stressing her life about ten years ago. She was enjoying the positive changes in her life but felt a disconnect, something was missing. She started meditating occasionally on her own for about a year using various internet guided meditations. One day Mary was speaking to her Yoga instructor about her feelings of disconnect and hitting a wall with her personal growth. Her Yoga instructor suggested that Mary try a meditation class through MMI.  Mary attended an in person class and she found what she was looking for, she felt at ease, connected, and at home. Soon after, Mary applied to become a meditation teacher through MMI.
